Performance at a breeze:
The 500C is not only a stylish convertible; it packs a punch, too. It has the same choice of engines as the standard 500: the revolutionary 85bhp TwinAir – our most eco-friendly engine yet – the 1.3 95bhp MultiJet diesel, the 1.2 69bhp and 1.4 100bhp petrol engines. All of which you can enjoy with the wind whistling through your hair.

Sporty by nature:
Want to get your heart racing? Get behind the wheel of the 100bhp 1.4 and press the magic ‘Sport’ button on the dash. You’ll instantly feel the steering stiffen, the throttle sharpen, and the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Woohoo.

SAFETY

Top marks for safety:
You’ve got to hand it to our design guys – even with a soft roof, they’ve managed to pack as many safety features into the 500C as there are in the standard model.What’s more, the car performs just as well in all our rigorous safety tests as the hard top does.

All-round protection:
The 500C is not your average small car. It comes with no fewer than seven airbags (more than any other car in its class), so you’re protected from every angle. There’s even an airbag for your knees.

Safety controls:
We’ve packed the 500C with the latest technology to keep you and your passengers safe. In fact, it offers more safety features as standard than any other small car. A clever piece of technology called ESP (Electronic Safety Programme) prevents your tyres from losing their grip, keeping you in control in virtually any road conditions. It’s standard in all models.

Safety Seats:
Our seats are built to keep you from being injured in an accident. The front seatbelts have pretensioners to take away any slack in the first few milliseconds of a crash, and the load limiters jump into action when there’s a large restraining force on the belt. They release a little bit of the belt to prevent you being injured by it.

Stopping power:
The 500C’s braking system incorporates the latest technology, so when you need to stop quickly you also stop safely. It’s been designed for prompt, smooth braking with shorter stopping distances. The anti-locking brakes come complete with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), which means the braking force is spread evenly across all four wheels.

Innovative soft top:
Everyone loves a bit of cutting-edge technology. Take the Fiat 500C’s new electric soft top. With just the press of a button, the roof smoothly slides all the way open in 16 seconds. Press the button again, and back it comes. And that’s not the half of it. If the roof’s back and you want to pop open the boot, the roof automatically closes to make room for it. Clever stuff; just like the glass backlight, the built-in, high-mounted stop light, the state-of-the-art engines... All brains and no beauty? Not on your nelly. We’ve paid homage to the original 1957 convertible during the creation of the 500C.

Small is beautiful:
Small in size, light on fuel, big on fun – that’s our revolutionary TwinAir engine. It’s a super-lightweight engine that uses innovative MultiAir technology to give you maximum mileage for minimum fuel. So you get perky performance with the bonus of less fuel and CO2 emissions. Win-win.

Bye-bye, clutch pedal:
You can add a Dualogic gearbox to any of the petrol engines. Set it to semi-automatic and change gears without using the clutch – just flick the special gear lever forwards or backwards. Easy. Or switch to automatic and the 500C will do all the hard work for you. Quick, smooth and effortless gear changes.

Hot seat:
Retro split-colour seats – just like the original 500 convertible – in all versions except the TwinAir, which boasts exclusive all-black sports seats. In the Lounge version the seats are in super-slick, super-durable Cordura fabric. Or treat yourself to the luxury Frau leather option in black, brown or red.

Love leather:
For a slick, sporty look in your 500C go for the leather interior. And we’re not just talking about the seats. You can choose a leather steering wheel and gear stick – standard with the TwinAir Plus trim – and leather on the doors. Choose from black, brown or red.

Out on its own:
Call us biased, but we love the 500C’s soft top roof. Available in three colours (ivory, red and black), it can be matched with 11 bodywork colour schemes, giving you a car that perfectly matches your personality – however sunny that may be.

The dashboard doesn’t just look good, it makes you feel good too. It’s been ergonomically designed to make driving the 500C a breeze. The chunky gearstick is mounted high next to the steering wheel, so changing gears is effortless. Go for the leather option in black or ivory to match the steering wheel for a luxurious look.

Mission control:
Inspired by the original 500C, all the instruments have been designed in a slick, rounded panel. And the digital display is easy to read to help keep you safe on the road. Simple, clear and stylish. It’s a work of art.

Load it up :
Scooting off somewhere nice? You can carry three lucky passengers in the 500C and relax, knowing they’ll be safe. It’s thanks to the car’s top-of¬-class safety features, including seven airbags. Unlike most other small convertibles on the market, the new 500C has four adult-sized seats, so it’s extra comfy. Get everyone in, with plenty of room for all their clobber too.

Group hug:
The 500C’s seats are no ordinary seats. Of course they look the part – they can have the same two-tone design as the original with the side part and head restraint matching the colour of the steering wheel. And they’re incredibly comfortable too, thanks to the big sport-seat shape snugly holding your back for maximum support. It’s like the car’s giving you a hug. Bless.

Cool it:
With the air con as standard in all versions, you’ll be able to enjoy the 500C whatever the weather. What’s more, the sophisticated climate system – standard in all Lounge versions – regulates the air and temperature inside. So there’s no chance of you feeling sleepy because the car’s too stuffy. Oh, and no sneezing either – it has a pollen filter too.

Sophisticated sounds:
TThe 500C’s stereo plays CDs and MP3 files, or there’s always the radio, of course. Six speakers (two 30W tweeters, two 40W and two 35W full-range) come as standard. Or choose the sophisticated Interscope Sound System – a hi-fi designed and developed to give the best in-car sound experience. In addition to its special signal-processing technology, it comes with six speakers plus a 100W sub-woofer and 30W amplifier. Whichever you choose, we’re sure that both you and your car will be singing along nicely.

BOOT SPACE

Carry everything!:
You may think the 500C’s small, but please don’t tell the car that; it thinks it’s enormous. It’s probably due to its generous luggage space, excellent ‘loadability’ and fully opening soft-top roof. By using some clever parallelogram-designed hinges, our Fiat designers and engineers have lost only three litres from the hatchback boot space. Mind you, a healthy 183 litres of storage can be nabbed back quickly by folding the rear seats down, giving you a supermini-busting 500 litres.

Smart storage:
Despite its petite proportions, the Fiat 500C is surprisingly roomy inside, and its storage solutions are ingenious. In the front, there’s a nifty compartment in the base of the passenger seat and neat drawers in the dash so you can hide your valuables. In the back, you can add a storage unit or an organiser to the boot to keep things tidy.
